Dental Implants

This sub-specialty within dentistry has undergone some of the most exciting applications for us in the past 10 years. The doctor is either trained in how to put the screw in or how to use it once it is in. Some are trained to do both, others like myself, have chosen at this point to work with the specialist, like an oral surgeon or periodontist, to place the implant. After the implant is integrated into the bone, Dr. Gotwalt will restore the implant to a functioning tooth. It is the most rewarding new science to affect the quality of ones life. We may use lots of them and anchor teeth directly to the screws, or use fewer and have them function as individual teeth. We are capable of completely restoring a mouth without teeth in one day, allowing the patient to function with their teeth permanently attached to them once again. In short, there appears to be no limit to our finding uses for implants. All of the implant applications may be life changing. We pride ourselves with our experience in this field as well. Designing the proper use of the implant with the patients desires in mind is critical.
